HY 2020 Annus Horribilis

Annus horribilis is a Latin phrase, meaning "horrible year". Annus mirabilis means "wonderful year.

It is a July 01, 2020. That's one half of 2020 gone and the judgement is that 2020 has been a annus horribilis. The year has been called this after only half an year! The most wonderful thing can happen in a day... so calling it a  horrible year is perhaps a little immature. But statistics can be foreboding. And it does not lie. And so far it has been nasty. True we can call this certainly as not promising.

First there was coronavirus and then the Chinese aggression. In between there was the death of a a couple of loved actors and a suicide of a younger star who had achieved much.

Across the world Trump is still being hammered by his critics.

The economy is in doldrums.

And we are just half way into the year.
