Manu Sharma

If he has changed for the better he deserves to live.

He was 23 when he committed a abominable crime.

His well wishers used the system to get him away but failed. He was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Of course, the interest in him and the case waned as time passed.

He was already suffering for his crime.

But he was only 23 when he killed a human being. Today he is 44. He is probably a different person.

Perhaps.

21 Years in prison. He was granted parole now and then. He was allowed open prison facilities a few years ago. But he remains under parole now too. But what is three more years?  He was sentenced till 2023.

But he is free. He got his education. He even did his MA from jail.

Is he repentant? He is. So reports the media.

Is he forgiven? By the system, yes, but not by the many he has wounded.

Can we forgive him.

All I can say is that forgiveness liberates us to move forward. We can hate and carry anguish but it is necessary to forgive. Forgiveness helps us to move forward. Hate keeps us stuck to the past.

For now, let us feel good with the change that life has brought upon us.

Siddharth Vashisht aka Manu Sharma  is a changed man. If he is not, he will go back.
Jessica Lal is dead. She rests in peace. But we have to take care of the living.

For now, let's welcome the new Manu Sharma back to society.
